Nesting eagles in Southeastern PA. To get a sharp image from a long distance my solution has been to use a Nikon 1 V1 with the FT-1 adapter which let me use a Nikon 300mm f/4 lens and a 1.4 adapter.  The gives the maximum reach for my system.  To get a sharp image also requires a very stable tripod and a remote trigger to minimize camera shake.

Last year at this time, in the Dominican Republic helping with an education project for the San Francisco Christian School.  A great project with tremendous impact.

Often it is very hard to get a "natural" expression.  Distraction is an effective tactic.  So that Gabe wasn't self-conscious, we were talking about a large plant in the neighbor's garden and raised the possibility that when it was "fully mature" we could climb it and there would be a magic land... Just the thought gave me a shot I'll treasure for many years.

Twister at Knoebel's Amusement Park in Ellsburg, PA.  Knoebel's is a free admission park that is also dog friendly.  This shot is a testimony to the effectiveness of vibration reduction on the Nikon 1 series of cameras. This is a hand held exposure @ 1.3 sec.  Notice the ghosts on the bottom left of the frame.  They weren't the subject and I'm just as happy they a faint whisps of an image.
