A Nikon 1 camera with the FT1 adapter can make a very nice system for close-up photography. Pairing the Nikon 85 mm f/3.5 Micro with the Nikon 1 gives a good working distance so light can be added. Lighting was provided by a small lcd panel (3" x 5") with fill provided by a white piece of cardboard on the opposite side. This combination is equivalent to a 230 mm macro lens on a 35 mm system. An additional benefit is the expanded depth of field. This tooth would fit on a penny.
