Dagers' and their dog. One of the last shots at their family shoot. Since they were dog sitting, they weren't sure how attentive their dog would be. Surprisingly, he was the most attentive subject in the bunch for this series of shots...

Merry Christmas to you all! Technical information: The photo was taken with a tripod mounted D200 with a Nikon 105mm micro lens and lite by an SB800 flash bounced off the wall to the right of the image using the D200's commander mode for triggering a remote flash.

Tiger at dusk. A little light was added so he would not look like a complete blur as night approached. The AFZCC (America's First Zoo Camera Club) will have its Christmas Party tomorrow. I thought I would share a few shots that I will be including in my slide show.
The colors right after the sun goes down are very dramatic. This was one of several shots made at the end of one of the Philadelphia Zoo's special patrons programs.
Close-up at the entrance to the "Wild Earth" building and exhibit. By this time Francie got tired of waiting on me and went her own way...

Eli came to visit today. He also wanted to have a moustache like his dad and "Pop pop."
At the end of a very busy Thanksgiving Week-end Gabe takes a well-earned nap.

It was fun shooting with the rich fall colors and even lighting in the late afternoon yesterday. We took many casual portraits in a very short period of time. Thank you for the opportunity to capture the moment - Paul & Brenda!
My first volunteer of the day. The light and fall colors were simply fabulous! It was a great day for casual portraits... just a little overcast.

Saturday, November 3, 2007 was a very special day for me. It began with a morning phone call as I was driving to Katelyn's home to shoot her wedding. My son Dan was calling to let me know that grand child number six had just arrived at 8:53. That provided an extra boost of adrenaline as we covered Katelyn's and Gerry's Wedding. It was a great day and we had a lot of fun capturing memories for them.
Katelyn getting ready to leave home for the wedding...
Gerry a few minutes before the wedding. A n t i c i p a t i o n. . . I can hear Carly Simon's voice in my mind...
Lighting the unity candle.
Katelyn and Gerry taking a break between the wedding ceremony and the reception.
David Gabriel (Gabe) Simrak - born 11/3/2007 @ 8:53am
Seven pounds and 20 inches. Gabe is our sixth grand child.
Gabe, checking us out...
Gram with her sixth great grand child. As they sat together, he started opening his eyes and taking in some light...
Gabe and Bob. Right after this picture was made, he started rooting around... feeding time already?
Geniene and Dan, the proud parents, relaxing after a very long night and day.

With the Ben Franklin Bridge in the background, this is where Gerry asked Katelyn to be his bride.
Gerry and Katelyn were engaged at Philadelphia's historic Penn's Landing - a special place with precious memories for them. I am really happy to be shooting their wedding for them next month.

My mom is a life-long Cleveland Indians baseball fan. My prayer request for her (and me) is that the Indians will play well through the World Series. So far, so good...

Part of my continuing quest for a really good spider photo. Here the spider is enjoying a fly...

Fall is our favorite time to walk through the shops at Cape May's Washington Street Mall.
Teddy bears. I really enjoy window shopping and window shooting in Cape May.
Pixie and pony.
Lots of pirate stuff at the shore. This was a window display in Cape May.
Dellas, five and dime, at Cape May's Washington Street Mall was our stop for lunch last week. A hotdog and coke for $1.99 - wow! Walmart prices and a large order of nostalgia.
Dottie filling our order at the soda fountain.
Dottie, our "soda" jerk host - made our trip back to the 60s so enjoyable.
A chocolate coke float with vanilla ice cream topped off a nostalgic afternoon at the 5 & 10's soda fountain.
Riding a very "hot" dragon on the Ocean City, NJ boardwalk.
Ride the carousel. You will have fun!

Wow, Sunday I was as happy as this young man. I spent the day shooting at Hilltown Baptist Church in Hilltown, PA trying to capture the sense of the day and how the body of Christ ministers to one another on the Lord's day...
Hilltown has two services an early contemporary service and a later service with a choir. The music, teaching and preaching was very, very good.
The oldest of Hilltown's buildings, the cornerstone reads 1833.
This of the Hilltop church buildings shows the growth over the years. The early building is one the far left with additions to the right.

My Honey & me. Francie and I enjoying the sea breeze. She loves the shore, the sand, the waves.
Dinner time at the food court!. Geniene placed her order for a large cheese pizza.
On the OC Boardwalk, gram met Mr. Peanut. What really made her day was the caramel corn w/peanuts. One nice service provided at the information center is the use of their wheel chairs - you can use one for up to two hours at a time. The wheel chair really helped her enjoy long walks/rides up and down the broadwalk.

Eli on the carousel. To get the shot, I bought a ticket and rode ahead of him. I get car sick very easily. On this ride I was fine as long as I was looking through the view finder. He really loved to go round and round - up and down...
We walked up and down the boardwalk remember that there were coupons back at the apartment - finally we went to the information desk, picked-up a another book and rode the "Ferris Wheel" with a free coupon. This was the hook that brought us up to the amusement pier.
Dan & Geniene at Ocean City's Music Pier at the end of a day on the beach.
We spent a week at Ocean City, NJ. The weather was great. This is a shot of the fishing pier off the boardwalk. I tried several exposures but settled on this one - the wispy nature of the waves appealed to me.

Saturday, August 24 was the church picnic at Camp Curiosity. It was a very hot day and the church family gathered around the pool at 5:00 for a baptism service. You can view the slide show here.

Walking past the zoo balloon on the way out. It was too windy today for the balloon to go up but it was beautifully lit as the sun went down.
On an evening shoot at the Philadelphia Zoo the light was very nice. This was taken with a Nikkor 18-200 VR lens - VR was off though. A tripod was used for an exposure of 1/15 second @ f/5.6 ISO 400.

A young tiger at the Philadelphia Zoo.

I met Rudi tonight on my evening walk. He is a therapy dog and was taking a break after visiting the folks at a nearby rehabilitation center.

Today it rained on my sunflower. Two treatments. One in color and one without. Soon there won't be anything left of my sunflower. Just ...
