Washington Monument from the Lincoln Memorial.
This summer Buck came to visit us in SE Pennsylvania. He had one request, to visit Washington DC and the memorials to those who served. As a Vietnam veteran it was a special time for him. One of his goals was to walk the length of the wall - he succeeded. On our way to the wall, Buck took in a quiet moment at the Lincoln Memorial. Reflecting...
Abraham Lincoln, Buck and Chris...

A young tourist, a little tired, maybe a little bored...

We came to Washington so Buck could visit the Vietnam Memorial. It was his first visit here. So long after his service and so long after the war. There were lots of stops and pauses when he reflected and then shared with Chris and me the stories of those he served with whose names were on the wall.

Ellmaker House in Gap, PA. The kids and my mom gave us two nights at this beautifully restored bed & breakfast as a Christmas gift. We were able to schedule our visit to coincide with our 33rd anniversary. Posted by Picasa
