Fall leaves under ice 1st of 3. For the last few years I have been fascinated by the look of leaves trapped under water and a coat of ice. The colors are intense and the shadows are deep from the low angle of the winter sun. Eventually I'll have a full set of images from this study...

This is the time of the year that ginkgo's to lose their leaves. The unusual building is my office. According to its history, it was initially a green house, then it was converted to a residence, then a office, then a residence, and now an office... my corner is a pleasant corner office in the back. I believe it is as far as possible from the source of heat - it is cold in my office... brrrr...

Today we celebrated Gabe's first birthday. And Aunt Stacey baked him his own cake. After Gabe's big brother blew out his candle, Gabe got to eat one of the pumpkins - he really loved it!

Time to get current with what we look like. Here I am with Francie. We took this photo at Lorimer Park in Montgomery County, PA. There are lots of scenic areas in the park. This is where we took the formal photos for Katie's and Clark's wedding.
Washington Crossing, PA. Where Washington crossed the Delaware River prior to the battle of Trenton. A few shots of the fall scenery in a beautiful location taken with my infrared D100.

Finally had a chance to sit for an extended period of time to try to get some nice portraits. Usually the birds rest where the camera isn't pointing - so I am learning how much patience is a virtue here...

It is truly a lazy, rainy day... I'll watch Phillies today and see if they can close out the season well and win the NL East Pennant. Too wet to cut the grass... These fellows came by at breakfast time.

Washington Monument from the Lincoln Memorial.
This summer Buck came to visit us in SE Pennsylvania. He had one request, to visit Washington DC and the memorials to those who served. As a Vietnam veteran it was a special time for him. One of his goals was to walk the length of the wall - he succeeded. On our way to the wall, Buck took in a quiet moment at the Lincoln Memorial. Reflecting...
Abraham Lincoln, Buck and Chris...

A young tourist, a little tired, maybe a little bored...
In front of the Lincoln Memorial, Buck, Chris, Bob and our wheel chair with Buck's oxygen tank.
We came to Washington so Buck could visit the Vietnam Memorial. It was his first visit here. So long after his service and so long after the war. There were lots of stops and pauses when he reflected and then shared with Chris and me the stories of those he served with whose names were on the wall.

Taking a break after successfully walking the length of the wall.

Today it rained on my sunflower. Two treatments. One in color and one without. Soon there won't be anything left of my sunflower. Just ...
