"Wow," Preston was really impressed with the lion exhibit at the Philadelpia Zoo this week!
This was my first visit to the lions at the new cat exhibit - "Big Cat Falls" that gave me a reasonably good shoot of a lion. Persistence pays off...
Otters are very active and very fast... Technically this was a difficult shot to capture. Shooting through dirty plexiglass, I was using a Nikon D200 with 18-200 zoom with vibration reduction - the ISO was bumped up to 1600 to get a reasonably fast shutter speed of 1/500 -- shooting 5 frames / second.
Looked like there was some "necking" going on with the giant tortoises...
Impala frolicking in the fountain... at the Impala Pavilion of the Philadelphia Zoo. With the bright sun and full foilage, I shot a few infrared images with a D100 converted for infrared photography.

Eli came for dinner. After we cleaned the food out of his hair and wiped his face, we were able to hold him down for this shot (it was diaper time). He is so active it is hard to get a nice tight shot in focus...

 Today it rained on my sunflower. Two treatments. One in color and one without. Soon there won't be anything left of my sunflower. Just ...
