I wanted to get a shot of the Snow Leopards at the Philadelphia Zoo. But they preferred to slumber outside of camera range. The Mountain Lions - they were more active and available.
I was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time to catch this light comming through some grasses. In the winter - these seem to catch my eye while I'm driving and seldom have a chance to capture an image with this level of intensity and color.
A closer shot of back lit grasses. I love the light on these scenes. They have such intensity that is hard to capture in a photo.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! The photo was taken this year of our tree. I used the card for Christmas Greetings at CrossWorld.

Sunday night when I took Sammy out for his evening walk, the moon was full and the scene was dramatic but the moon was obscurred by clouds so it was only a bright disc in the sky. Last night, the sky was clear and the moon showed all its detail. This is a composite of the view from Sunday & Monday.

Backyard shot from last Sunday -- it was misty and the fall colors were intense.

After a couple of hours raking leaves, I took a few minutes out to capture the beauty of fall colors here in SE Pennsylvania.

We walked past Ripley Museums many, many times. Last week we decided to take the tour. It was an interesting hour, reminiscent of historic carnival side shows. Each museum is said to have a different selection of exhibits.
A silver decorated skull from Tibet.
The Iron Maiden is one of many wicked devices for torture displayed in the museum. Uday Hussein, infamous son of the former dictator of Iraq who served as the country's sports Czar, had an Iron Maiden that he purposedly used to punish athletes who failed to live up to his expectations. For more information on the Iron Maiden.

Sisters. Sometimes it's easier to capture sybling rivalry. It's much more rewarding to capture an image of genuine affection.

Calvary Chapel Central Bucks Picnic at Camp Curiosity was Saturday, August 26. It was a great day for pictures. Slightly overcast, no sun, no strong shadows. Not a good day for soaking up the rays or swimming.
Good Eats at the picnic. Dan is down wind from the smoke. In another 15 minutes he'll figure it out and get the smoke out of his eyes.
A whole schedule of organized games for the kids including creative relay races.
There were many opportunities for just goofing off...
Camp Curiosity is a great place for an outing. Kids got to see goats, geese, horses, cows...
Eli didn't get to play any games this year. He just go to watch.

Saturday the Cheetahs were prancing about - they were awesome.
For me, it is a rare day when the Hippos have their heads above the water and are facing me. Usually they only show me their backsides. Hmmm, interesting considering their awesome power...

Another trip to the zoo and another visit to the bald eagles. They live in a wired area that makes getting a clear picture very difficult. Posted by Picasa

Japanese Beetles have invested our yard again! Was hoping to go to the zoo today but got a late start so I decided to take a picture of my perennial nemesis. This group is having a forced orgy of fellowship having been caught in my most effective trap. Unfortunately another group of beetles have decimated the Rose of Sharon. Posted by Picasa

Eli's first trip to the zoo. It was our first trip to the new big cat display area. It was a hot day and most of the big cats were resting! Posted by Picasa
Went to the zoo today with Dan, Geniene and Eli. The bald eagle was willing to let me take his picture. To me he is "intimidating." Posted by Picasa

Today it rained on my sunflower. Two treatments. One in color and one without. Soon there won't be anything left of my sunflower. Just ...
